There are several economic trends and factors that can impact the growth of a business. Our guest speakers, RBC Economist Josh Nye and Stephen Bald, Vice President, Financing and Consulting at BDC, offer a fresh insight and crisp perspective on the significance of recent trends and events and how they will affect Canadian businesses.
Josh joined RBC as an Economist in 2012, focusing on the macroeconomic outlook and monetary policy in Canada and the United States. In addition to ad hoc research and data commentaries, his regular publications include Financial Markets Monthly, a forward-looking analysis of Canadian, US and international financial market trends. Josh holds a BA (Honours) in Economics from the University of Western Ontario and MSc in Economics from the London School of Economics.
Stephen brings over 30 years of banking experience, initially in the U.K. Stephen has worked for BDC for 17 years, including roles as Business Centre Manager and more recently as Vice-President, for GTA North. He has been involved with the food and beverage sector group and Knowledge Based Industries and he has a strong sense of the challenges these sectors face, as well as the successes and growth opportunities.
